On the back, in ink, on a label, is the inscription: Jules Boeswillwald, 1848-1925, in mobile uniform, 1870. (Small splinters and gaps, hole, restoration). 27 x 21 cm Portrait begun in November 1876 was completed in five sessions in January 1877. It will be reproduced in the catalogue raisonné, volume III, in preparation by Madame Isabelle de Lannoy. Provenance: - Jules Boeswillwald, 1877.
