Originally from the Saint Brieuc region (Côte d'Armor), Jean Le Yaouanc painted his family's villages, Cohiniac, St Julien, Quintin and the surrounding area.
After taking holy orders, he was appointed parish priest at La Gaude before the war, then at Mougins.
A change of scenery, a change of light.
Le Yaouanc gives us a glimpse of everyday life in the South of France: boules games in the village square, processions, but also sunny landscapes.
