The back is decorated with boxes alternating between a Bastille surrounded by cannons and a Phrygian cap held on a stick surrounded by the motto "Vive la Liberté" (Long live liberty). At the bottom of the back is a title piece that reads "Memorable Times, July 12, 1789." (a little erased), date of the first issue of the famous newspaper.
