63- MUN (Adrien de). Livre de chasse pour l'année [], drawn in pen by Mr. le marquis de Mun, and lithographed by A. Collette. Paris, Susse frères, s.d. (circa 1855), oblong in-folio (33 x 42 cm), title and 10 lithographed plates in color, chagrined cloth, framed with cold fillet and gilt fillet on the boards, title pushed in cold in the center of the upper board (publisher's binding). Boards rubbed, gilding and stamping faded, tear to first flyleaf. Very rare. One of two editions of this fine work reported by Thiébaud: the aim was to present a hunting book that would be pleasant to own and consult, decorated with numerous hunting scenes in color. Thiébaud, 672. Autograph ex-dono from the Marquis de Cadore to the Duke of Manchester, dated January 20, 1858. These were: Camille-Louis-Marie-François de Nompère de Champagny (1827-1882), before he inherited the title of Duke of Cadore on the death of his father, the second Duke (in 1870); and William Drogo Montagu, seventh Duke of Manchester since 1855 (1823-1890). As there is no information on our copy, we can assume that it was kept more as a decorative element than as an actual hunting book. This is the case for most known copies.
