Extremely rare first edition. Only 50 copies of these memoirs were printed. Tulard, 254: "This Piedmontese officer fought in the campaigns of 1807, 1809 (the death of Lasalle), Russia, Germany and France". Having had an unusual career, Calosso left France in 1827 and ended his career in the service of Sultan Mahmoud: memories of Turkey occupy the second half of the book.
