159-GEORGEL (Jean-François). Mémoires pour servir à l'histoire des événemens de la fin du dix-huitième siècle, depuis 1760 jusqu'en 1806-1810 ; publiés par M. Georgel, neveu de l'Auteur. Paris, Eymery, Delaunay, 1817-1818, 6 vol. in-8, folding color plate (vol. 2), blond half calf, ribbed spine, gilt and cold-stamped fillets, marbled head (binding circa 1860). This is the most interesting part of the memoirs contained in Volume VI (portrait of Paul I, court of Louis XVIII at Mittau)" (Tulard). These memoirs, which begin at the end of Louis XV's reign, are particularly interesting for the end of the Ancien Régime. Complete with the large plate depicting the Queen's necklace. Fierro, 614. Tulard, 616. A fine copy. Minor rubbing to some headpieces, minor worm damage to some spines. Fresh interior, except at the very beginning of Volume II, which is dampstained.
