180-HAUTPOUL (Amand d'). Souvenirs sur la Révolution, l'Empire et la Restauration. Mémoires inédits pub. par le comte Fleury. Paris, Emile-Paul, 1904, in-8, VI-547 pp. half parma morocco, spine ribbed (period binding).

A good account of the Revolution, during which Amand d'Hautpoul and his family endured the Terror holed up in Versailles, before returning to the Versailles riding school, then to Polytechnique and the Ecole d'application de Metz. These memories are also of great importance for the Empire, from the Boulogne camp to their entry into the Imperial Guard.
Nothing on the Restoration, but an important chapter on the Revolution of 1830, when d'Hautpoul distinguished himself by defending the Invalides to the bitter end.
Fierro, 700.Tulard, 687. Bertier, 518.

Sent by Comte Fleury (recipient's name erased).
