208-[LABLEE (Jacques)]. Memoirs of a man of letters. Anecdotal work, following on from Mémoires sur la Révolution française. Second edition. A Paris, Chez l'Auteur et chez Vernarel et Tenon, 1825, in-8, V-352 pp, red long-grained half-maroquin à la Bradel, cover preserved (late 19th century binding). Very rare. Jacques Lablée was a writer and lawyer in Paris. His memoirs are a series of anecdotes about Paris, the beginning of the Revolution, his imprisonment in the Luxembourg, the Vaucluse in 1799 and a few anecdotes about Louis Bonaparte. "President of the Luxembourg section in 1791, collaborator with Danton, arrested during the Terror, Lablée composed his memoirs during the Restoration, endeavoring to minimize his actions during the Revolution" (Fierro). Fierro, 778. Tulard, 789. A good copy. Ex-libris Bibliothèque du Franc-Port. Spine a little faded.
