Ménière's memoirs cover many of the celebrities of the time: Saint-Arnaud, Lamartine, Canrobert, Sainte-Beuve, Princess Mathilde and the Prince Imperial. They are an excellent record of Second-Empire society. A good copy. Spine a little faded.
