In them, he recounts both Napoleon's history and his own life. Perhaps too much credence has been given to these memoirs, which are in fact very well written. The 8th volume of Mélanges, Souvenirs et rêveries d'un octogénaire, is complete. The photographic portrait and facsimile are often lacking. A fine copy bearing the Duke of Mouchy's cipher.
