Appointed to the chair of general grammar at the Berlin Military Academy in 1765, Dieudonné Thiébault quickly became an intimate of Frederick II, with whom he remained until 1784. His memoirs are full of anecdotes about literary and philosophical circles, life in Berlin and, of course, about Frederick II. A good copy. Spine faded.
