This valiant officer of the Grande Armée inspired Joseph Conrad for his book Le Duel, and Ridley Scott for his film Les Duellistes. A very fine copy bearing the arms of Lieutenant-Colonel Carnot. Dupont's niece was the mother of French President Sadi Carnot. This explains why such a fine copy took its place in the gigantic Carnot library. Copy enriched as follows: 2 L.A.S. from Richemont to his cousin Lt -Colonel Carnot (1929-1931) 1 L.A.S. from Leproux to Colonel Carnot (the latter is the author of a book on Dupont). 5 postcards of Château de Rochebrune in Étagnac.
