Rectangular hardstone marquetry tray decorated with birds, bouquets in escutcheons and a central fruit basket. Modern work. 120 x 60 cm. This piece is similar to a 17th-century masterpiece with flowers, fruit and cardinal birds, created by the Grand Ducal workshops and currently housed at Schonbrunn Palace, Vienna, and illustrated on page 93 of Annamaria Giusti's book "Pietre Dure - The Art of Semiprecious Stonework".
