(c. 1850), large vol. in-folio, covered in fine, neat and very legible handwriting (approx. 30 lines per page), with deliberately archaizing spelling, but not exactly reproducing the spelling of the originals, wide margins, stiff vellum, muted ribbed spine, red edges (period binding). The only known collection of letters by Marshal de Brissac. (Boards detached).
