DELISLE (Léopold). Extract from Le Temps, February 25, 1883. Les Très anciens manuscrits du fonds Libri, dans les collections d'Ashburnham Place (Communication faite à l'Académie des Inscriptions le 22 février 1883). Paris, Imprimerie Schiller, s.d. (1883), in-8, 23 pp. half vellum, cherry-stamped title (period binding).
(Spine soiled).

This pamphlet should be added to the innumerable documents relating to the Libri affair, which had been running since the July Monarchy. Succeeding Jules Taschereau as general administrator of the Bibliothèque Nationale in 1874, Léopold Delisle (1826-1910) was pleased to be able to repatriate some of the medieval manuscripts (166) stolen by the Italian mathematician and swindler from the public repositories, but the task was not an easy one, as he had to negotiate with the heirs of Earl Betram Ashburnham to obtain a form of restitution, effective in 1888.
