Rectangular tray in hardstone marquetry with central decoration of flowers surrounded by butterflies and birds, large frieze of flowers around the edge of the tray. 130 x 85 cm. (Damage). This piece is similar in design to a tray made by Gaetano Bianchini (1807-1866), illustrated in Annamaria Giusti (ed.), Dagli Splendori di corte al lusso borghese: L'Opificio delle Pietre Dure nell'Italia unita, Florence, 2011, p.42, figs. 3-4 (ill) and page 53.
